The Convention Industry Council administers the Certification, not Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

CERTIFICATE IN MEETING MANAGEMENT (CMM)

The Global Certification in Meeting Management (CMM) is the first university co-developed global professional designation for meeting professionals. The global CMM focuses on strategic issues and executive decision-making and offers advanced level meeting professionals the opportunity for:

Through a four-step process, candidates progress deeper into strategic thinking and acting. These steps include an educational journey through the following aspects of the program:

Part I
Acceptance into the Program
Successful completion of the application and acceptance into the CMM program

Part II
Pre-residency
Various reading assignments, a faculty survey and psychological type questionnaire
Active participation in a case study team using on-line technology

Part III
Residency
Attendance in an intense 5-day residency program
Participation in a group case study

Part IV
Post-residency
Individual exam (completed at home immediately following the program)
Successful completion of a strategic business plan which must be for either a new business venture or a restructuring your current situation.
