How did you get your start in the industry?
While attending University of Nevada Las Vegas for Business Management and Hospitality,
I started a full-time management-training program at a large hotel and casino.  The program involved PBX, human resources, accounting, front desk and convention sales.
I was able to secure a Sales Manager position upon completion, and my journey in meetings industry began.
How many years have you been in the industry?
17 years - Most of my career being in Las Vegas, and now in Westchester, NY since my recent relocation in February 2017.
What is your favorite thing about our industry?
I enjoy the personal interactions with a very diverse group of clients that represent organizations from all market segments and many different areas of the world.  The ability to have sincere partnerships with my clients and produce successful programs is what drives me.  I am so grateful for my experience, and look forward to many more years in our ever-changing industry.
What is the best career advice you’ve received?
Communication is key-Learn to express your opinions in a way that people want to listen; and stay humble, passionate, real, and lead with integrity
If you were not in this industry, what would you be doing right now?
That is a tough one… probably an entrepreneur involving coaching and mentoring.
Where did you grow up?
A very small town in Wisconsin called Williams Bay until I was 12 years old, then my family moved to Las Vegas!  Like most big changes, it was scary at first, but helped to create a well-rounded attitude on life and to look for the positive in change.
What is your favorite city to travel to and why?
Since I am still new to the area, I really enjoy taking the train into New York City.  It is so full of energy, and I experience something new every time I visit.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you bring with you?
A young eagle scout (‘cause they will know what to do), a knife, and flint stones.
If you could invite one famous or noted person (past or present) to dinner, who would you choose?
Oprah Winfrey, she is such an amazing woman and I would love to talk with her about her path to building such an impactful empire
