MPI CURRENT MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS – SEPTEMBER 2011

Renewal Incentives – September 2011

Incentive available for Renewals for September:

MPI will draw one lucky winner out of all the renewals received EACH WEEK in September for a free membership. 

Every week, MPI will have a drawing out of those that have renewed during that week.  One person will be selected each week, globally, to receive an automatic one-year extension of their membership dues. 

New Member Incentives

Current Incentive available to Chapters for New Members for September:

LinkedIn2011

  • For potential members who are a member of the MPI LinkedIn groups
  • $/€50.00 discount for a new membership
  • Use “MPILinkedIn2011” in “Campaign” field

Twitter2011

  • For potential members who ‘follow’ MPI on Twitter
  • $/€50.00 discount for a new membership
  • Use “Twitter2011” in the “Campaign” field
  • Meant for only those individuals following MPI on Twitter – there is announcement on our page (does not have to be the chapter’s Twitter page.)

Facebook2011

  • For potential members who are Facebook “fans” of MPI pages
  • $/€50.00 discount for a new membership
  • Use “Facebook2011” in the “Campaign” field

Tradeshows

  • Done on a case-by-case basis, typically limited to once per year per chapter
  • Let us know if you have a tradeshow scheduled and we can work with you to provide a campaign code to provide a $/€50 discount for new membership for those that sign up at the booth

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Regular Planner and Supplier Memberships (New Member)

  • $/€375.00 for a full year – Planners (includes $50 processing fee)
  • $/€500.00 for a full year – Suppliers (includes $50 processing fee)
  • Dues can be split into installments, if needed

Planner and Supplier Renewals

  • $/€325.00 for a full year – Planners
  • $/€450.00 for a full year – Suppliers

Rejoin/Reinstate

  • Jenna Wykes handles reinstates for US, Leslie Wright for Canada, and Bianca Manteuffel for Europe; if former member wants to gain back the years of membership they had, they must pay the back dues, plus the current dues.
  • Rejoin gives a brand new start and end date - $/€375.00 Planner/$/€500.00/Supplier

Student Membership

  • $/€40.00 for a full year
  • Must show proof of enrollment
    o   Current course schedule, copy of tuition receipt, letter from college or university
  • Can renew at the student rate of $/€40.00 several times but must show proof of enrollment before renewal is processed

Student-In-Transition

  • For student members who have recently graduated with a degree from an accredited college/university
  • Renew first year at $/€75.00, second year at $/€150.00, third year at $/€250.00, before renewing at $/€325.00 (Planner) or $/€450.00 (Supplier) in fourth year (rates are the same for SIT 1-3 regardless of supplier vs planner)
  • Must be processed manually by membership services coordinator rather than online

Faculty Membership

  • $/€195.00 for a full year
  • If possible, we obtain proof. School course schedule with teacher name, etc.
  • Can renew at the rate of $/€195.00 as many times as needed

 

Unemployment Assistance Program

  • Can extend membership for six months from end date at no cost. Separate form to fill out.
  • If still unemployed after six months, can renew for another six months at $/€99.00.
  • $/€99.00 extension can be used twice.
  • For auditing purposes, we attempt to get proof of unemployment (letter/notification, insurance, etc.)
  • Only used for renewals, not new members

Transfer of Membership

  • Current member AND new member have to read and sign the Transfer Policy
  • New member must submit new member application, transfer release form, and $/€100.00 transfer fee for processing
  • Transfer of membership can only be used one time per member
  • Membership cannot be transferred to current MPI member
  • We have added a requirement on the transfer form for the transferring member to give us a phone number for us to call and verify transfer. 
  • Transfers go to Jenna Wykes for processing for US and Canada, and to Bianca Manteuffel for Europe

Complimentary Limited Membership – must be approved by Membership services

  • Used when company is unable to contact former employee to transfer a membership
  • New member can fill out “Limited Membership Form”
  • Three months at no cost

Installments

  • Any new membership or renewal can be broken into quarterly installments
  • Discounted memberships can be broken into installments as well

Referral Program

  • If a current member refers a new member, the new member can list the member on their application for referring them.
  • $/€25 credit for every member referred
  • New member HAS to list the member’s name on the application
  • HQ (US/Canada/Europe) tracks the referrals, but the member should check in with HQ office in your region in order to get the special rate. It has to be processed through Membership Services.  We are very close to automating this process. 

Omni Rewards

  • Meeting planners can now be rewarded with $/€500 towards a meetings/travel industry organization when booking a meeting at any Omni Hotel.
  • The $/€500 can be used for MPI, NBTA, ASAE, PCMA or RCMA conferences, annual dues or as a foundation donation for any of these organizations. 
  • Member can contact Membership Services to exchange vouchers

Starwood Points

  • Starwood Hotels and Resorts offers MPI gift certificates through its Starpoints. Preferred planners are automatically enrolled as preferred guests and earn one Starpoint per every $/€3 spent on Starwood Property. Members can redeem points for a $/€100 MPI gift certificate, valid for conference registration, membership dues or book purchases.
